Fashion Designer Tutia Schaad begins her professorship

The faculty of Atelier Chardon Savard Berlin recently welcomed a prominent newcomer, Professor Tutia Schaad. The Berlin Campus appointed Schaad as the professor of experimental fashion illustration and digital graphics on August 1. From 2009 to 2018, she was the co-owner and co-creative director of the fashion label PERRET SCHAAD which is known today as one of the most inspirational brands in Germany. She will teach Fashion Design B.A. as the Head of Fashion Innovation.

Already as a child in Hanoi, she was deeply interested in drawing costumes and figures. Having lived in France and Switzerland, she had the opportunity to imbibe the French approach to style and the Swiss eye for high standards in quality. She is a firm believer that great designs are based on one’s attitude towards the world and society. The diverse creative impulses are obvious in her own work and approach. Professor Schaad is looking forward to guiding her students to absorb the impulses around them, incorporate the ‘Zeitgeist’ into their work and at the same time, create their own unique point of view.
In addition to her responsibilities in teaching, Professor Schaad aims to amplify the networking of the fashion school with the German fashion industry opening up more opportunities for the students and graduates for practice as well as future career prospects.

A warm welcome to Professor Schaad and best wishes for a successful start.
